UFC Quick Quote: Jose Aldo won’t lose to ‘confident’ Cub Swanson

USA TODAY Sports

According to UFC on FUEL TV analyst and current UFC Heavyweight -- soon to be Light Heavyweight -- contender Daniel Cormier, Cub Swanson should get next crack at UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo, but won’t be victorious if he does indeed get the title shot.

"Cub Swanson has been on a sick roll right now. I want to see him fight Aldo next. Cub is very confident right now, but Aldo won't lose."

Now that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight champion Jose Aldo conquered his latest quest, defeating Chan Sung Jung at UFC 163 last weekend (Aug. 3, 2013) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (video here), he can look ahead to his next challenger. According to Daniel Cormier's comments during the UFC 163 post-fight show on FUEL TV, a rematch against Cub Swanson should be next, seeing as how the Cub is on a hot streak, winning five straight. But, as "sick" as his fight game is right now, Swanson won't be knocking Aldo off his 145-pound throne anytime soon according to "DC." The two originally threw down at WEC 41 four years ago, with Aldo knocking out the Jackson-Winkeljohn - trained fighter in only eight seconds with a flying knee and subsequent ground and pound. But, will Swanson, if does indeed get the next title shot, have luck the second time around? Or should Ricardo Lamas get next crack at the strap? Who has the best chance at defeating Aldo?
