****Brand New Competition**** $5, Five Events Kountermove Season

We all love a bit of competition here on Mania, and I have a new proposal for you fuckers. Now that I'm free of running the Freepool and the Bracket Tourny, I have come up with another competition. The premise is very simple really. We all use Playground for our very own and highly competitive Moneypool, which has very nice payouts.

Now due to the popularity of the simple and always fun Kountermove, I have been trying to think of a fresh way to harness that site into a competition of our own. Somthing a little different to just counting how many points we get in total.

What I want to do is create a league based on performance, as opposed to just the usual way we do things on Playground.

So what I propose is as follow:

  • $5 Entry fee. Paid via online to me.
  • I will create a free private Kountermove game for each event.
  • Links to each event shall be sent via e-mail only
  • 20 players max for 5 events.
  • Points will be distributed per person finishing in the top 10
  • Most points awarded win the lot

Points System

Instead of just totaling points won in an event like we do for the Playground games, I would like to award points to where people place per event, much like they do in Formula 1.

  • 1st place: 25 points
  • 2nd place: 20 points
  • 3rd place: 16 points
  • 4th place: 13 points
  • 5th place: 10 points
  • 6th place: 8 points
  • 7th place: 6 points
  • 8th place: 4 points
  • 9th place: 2 points
  • 10th place: 1 point
  • 11th-20th: 0 points

After 5 events, the player on top of the league, wins the whole lot, $100

In case of a tie in an event, not unusual in Kountermove, points will be based on the average. So if say 2nd and 3rd had the same score, I would add the 2nd place points (20) to the 3rd place points (16) and divide by 2 = 18 points awarded to each player.

Example of how I will score a top 10 performance of a recent event.

As you can see, there is a 3 way tie for third. So I will add the scores for 3rd, 4th and fifth and divide it by 3. (16+13+10) = 39 /3 = 13 points per player tied.

1st, Plainview 25 points

2nd Bons, 20 points

3rd Jonnyboy 13 points

4th Dylan 13 points

5th Joshua 13 points

6th Letstalk 8 points

7th Adolfo 6 points

8th Remo 4 points

9th Lazarus 2 points

10th Joben 1 point

11th-20th 0 points

That would be how the league looks after one event.

Ideally I would like 20 players to make a $100 pot. But this will also work with just 10, so an absolute minimum of 10 players really, but then the prize would only be $50, unless I make it $10 entry.

If this works out, I may increase entry fee and make a payout for top 3.

If you are interested, please let me know.

Any questions or comments, just let me know.
