Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rolled its worn and weathered mixed martial arts (MMA) tour bus into Indianapolis, Ind., earlier this afternoon (Mon., Aug. 26, 2013) to kick-off the "Condit vs. Kampmann 2" festivities.
And leading the welcome wagon was the monstrous 7'2" Indiana Pacers center, Roy Hibbert.
Hibbert rubbed elbows with the two Welterweight fighters, Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann, who are set to headline UFC Fight Night 27, which takes place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse this upcoming Wednesday night (Aug. 28, 2013), airing live on FOX Sports 1 with an 8 p.m. start time.
Once the formalities were out of the way, "Natural Born Killer" and "Hitman" worked up one of their last few sweats before showtime during the open media workout that took place on the Pacer's practice court. Of course, the 170-pound pair also took time to answer questions and predict how the outcome might be different the second time around after Kampmann walked away with a close decision win over Condit at UFC Fight Night 18 back in April 2009.
Two more rounds! Maybe.
Top-ranked Lightweight competitors Donald Cerrone and Rafael dos Anjos, who will collide in a pivotal co-main event match, were also in attendance. So, too, were other main card fighters Kelvin Gastelum, Brian Melancon, Takeya Mizugaki and Erik Perez; however, the promotion did not include them in the video highlight package above.
The main card fighters, as well as the rest of the UFC Fight Night 27 field, will all be back at Bankers Life Fieldhouse tomorrow afternoon for the official weigh-in, which is the last of the formalities before the action unfolds for real Wednesday night, results that you can catch right here.
