Sarah Kaufman vs Jessica Eye official for UFC 166

Christian Petersen

The UFC officially announced that Sarah Kaufman would face Jessica Eye at UFC 166.

The Ultimate Fighting Championshp (UFC) continues to fill out UFC 166, headlined by Cain Velasquez defending his UFC Heavyweight title against Junior Dos Santos, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on October 19, 2013.

Sarah Kaufman, who was originally slated to face Sarah McMann at UFC Fight Night 27, was pulled from the Indianapolis card when McMann suffered an injury in training and withdrew from the bout.

The good news is that Kaufman (16-2) won't be sitting on the sidelines too long.

The UFC officially announced that she will be facing newcomer, Jessica Eye, in Houston.

Eye (10-1), has spent her career fighting at 125 pounds, and is considered by most to be one of the top two or three female fighters at that weight class. The move up to bantamweight may help her as she's stated on twitter that the cuts are starting to get a little difficult. She was recently released from Bellator when the promotion decided to focus exclusively on male fights.

This fight will likely be the opener on a stacked card, though the official bout order hasn't yet been announced.
