Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has made another switcheroo for its upcoming UFC 165: "Jones vs. Gustafsson" fight card, which is scheduled to take place on Sept. 21, 2013 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
One Canuck out, another Canuck in.
Mark Bocek has been injured in training and forced to withdraw from his upcoming lightweight scrap opposite Michel Prazeres. Taking his place on short notice will be Canadian Fighting Championship (CFC) veteran Jesse Ronson.
Ronson (13-2) makes his Octagon debut riding an eight-fight winning streak with five finishes. "The Body Snatcher" was last seen choking out Shane Campbell at Aggression Fighting Championship (AFC) last month in Alberta.
His first test under the ZUFFA banner will not be an easy one.
Waiting for him in "Hogtown" will be Prazeres (16-1), who knows a thing or two about win streaks. Prior to getting outworked by Paulo Thiago in his Octagon debut, "Tractor" was perfect at 15-0 with half his wins coming by way of tap, nap or snap.
Who ya' got?
UFC 165 will be headlined by a main event featuring UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, as he puts his 205-pound title on the line against surging division contender Alexander Gustafsson. Elsewhere on the card, Renan Barao will bang it out against Eddie Wineland while Brendan Schaub tangles with Matt Mitrione.
