UFC Fight Night 26: "Shogun vs. Sonnen" from the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $50,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 26 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's heading home with a second sack of simoleons.
The powers that be at the UFC were hoping the main card would come through big in the company's debut effort on Fox Sports 1 and did it ever. It was so good, in fact, that two extra bonuses were handed out.
Travis Browne earned "Knockout of the Night" for putting Alistair Overeem out with a front kick to the face while Matt Brown also brought home some bacon for finishing off Mike Pyle in short order. Chael Sonnen earned "Submission of the Night" for chocking out Mauricio Rua with a guillotine choke in the main event while Michael McDonald also earned extra for his tapout of Brad Pickett.
Speaking of that fight, both McDonald and Pickett brought home even more bank for "Fight of the Night" honors.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC Fight Night 26:
Knockout of the Night -- Travis Browne/Matt Brown
Submission of the Night -- Chael Sonnen/Michael McDonald
Fight of the Night -- Michael McDonald vs. Brad Pickett
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as that information becomes available.
