His gorgeous ground display at World Series of Fighting 4 (WSOF) was topped off with a guillotine submission of Keon Caldwell in the opening frame of their three round Lightweight bout.
The young man continues to impress and with the added exposure ESPN brings we can expect to continue hearing much more about the Massachusetts bred fighter.
With the victory Saturday Newell is looking ahead towards being part of a four man tournament to find the promotion's inaugural Lightweight champion.
Much can be said about Newell's lack of a limb, but one cannot deny the marketability a fighter of his ability can bring for WSOF. His arm will become less and less of a story the more he continues getting results similar to the one he got Saturday.
