Well, apparently, mixed martial arts (MMA) clones do exist, sorta, in the form of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre, who -- in addition to roles in "Captain America: 'Winter Soldier'" and "Monsters University," among others -- will star in an upcoming FOX Sports 1 commercial.
"Rush" explains the purpose of his stunt double:
"I feel good -- I didn't have to do too many takes. The camera guy and the crew were perfect. I decided to do my own stunts because it is more authentic. I'm used to doing it. It's mixed martial arts, it's what I do every day. My stunt guy was there more for the measurement and stuff. It was fun."
FOX Sports 1 network will launch on Sat., Aug. 17, 2013, featuring FOX event "Prelims" matches, "UFC Tonight," the weekly authority for UFC news and information, 14 Saturday pay-per-view (PPV) "Prelims" cards and hundreds of hours of library programs and events.
The inaugural network event, UFC on FOX Sports 1 #1, which is scheduled for launch night, will feature an impromptu Light Heavyweight match up that pits former 205-pound division champion Mauricio Rua opposite ex-Middleweight No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen.
Be sure to catch the full FOX Sports 1 promo video with St. Pierre (or so he says) during the Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game that will air on FOX next week (July 16, 2013). Or, just wait until we post the full video right here at MMAmania.com as soon as it becomes available.
