Chael Sonnen feels Anderson Silva's arrogance and showboating finally caught up to him in the UFC 162 main event when "The Spider" suffered his first defeat inside the Octagon.

"When you get in there with Anderson there's a certain level of cockiness, a level of arrogance. And this is what he uses; this is his approach and its worked for a very long time. But guys historically, this will always catch up to you. Whether it's our sport of MMA, you want to look at Chuck Liddell, or it's a boxing sport and you take a look at a guy like Roy Jones Jr., you can not be cocky and stick to the basic at the same time. You can't be arrogant and keep your hands up at the same time. A 38-year-old man is not going to out speed a 29-year-old."

-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight and FUEL TV analyst Chael Sonnen explains how Anderson Silva's arrogance caught up with him in the UFC 162 main event against Chris Weidman. Sonnen, who has faced "The Spider" twice in the past, feels that the fighting style of the now former champion finally caught up to him on Saturday night (July 6, 2013) when he was brutally knocked out by the underdog Weidman in the second round of their middleweight championship affair. While Sonnen credits Silva for making his style of fighting work effectively for so long, he feels Weidman was the wrong opponent to showboat against and that's exactly why the Brazilian had his undefeated streak inside the Octagon snapped in highlight reel fashion.
