Anderson Silva vs Chris Weidman full fight video highlights from UFC 162

USA TODAY Sports

Anderson Silva got cocky and ended up knocked out cold when Chris Weidman landed a hard left hook straight to the chin. Check out the highlights from the UFC 162 main event in Las Vegas, Nevada, right here.

Anderson Silva might still be the greatest mixed martial artist in the history of the still relatively young sport but he can no longer refer to himself, honestly at least, as Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion. That's because Chris Weidman used a left hook to knock him out cold in the main event of last night's (Sat., July 6, 2013) UFC 162: "Silva vs. Weidman" pay-per-view (PPV) from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a shocking result, not only because "The Spider" had never lost a bout contested inside the Octagon in his career but because of how it happened. He got cocky, as he's done so many times before, and this time it cost him. Weidman, the wrestler, was supposed to grapple his way to victory, not use one punch to put the Brazilian out cold and unburden him of his long reign as 185-pound king. But now it's over and a new era has begun. What a night. For more on Silva vs. Weidman click here, and for complete UFC 162 results and blow-by-blow coverage of all the night's action click here.
