Even though Tito Ortiz claimed that he would never fight his "best friend," Quinton Jackson, unless it was for a world mixed martial arts (MMA) title, "Huntington Beach Bad Boy" and "Rampage" are set to headline the first-ever Bellator pay-per-view (PPV) event at Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center in Long Beach, Calif., on Nov. 2, 2013.
"Maybe God made the path for us to not compete against each other," Ortiz told FightHub.tv in a Jan. 2012 interview. "I've never really wanted to, he's my boy, he's my best friend."
Ortiz has not competed since he announced his retirement from the sport, which followed a split decision loss to Forrest Griffin at UFC 148 in July 2012. Jackson, meanwhile, will compete for the first time since he parted ways with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on the heels of a lopsided unanimous decision loss to Glover Teixeira in Jan. 2013.
It's unclear at this time who will join Ortiz and Jackson on the PPV main card; however, rest assured the promotion will likely stock it with stars such as Muhammed Lawal, Lightweight champion Michael Chandler and Welterweight kingpin Ben Askren to get the most bang for its expensive buck.
