And the loser probably won't see another 265-pound title shot for a long time.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is ready to close the book on the third and final chapter of its heavyweight trilogy between reigning champion Cain Velasquez and former division kingpin Junior dos Santos.
As with every rubber match, the score is one apiece.
"Cigano" was able to upset the 265-pound apple cart in Nov. 2011, knocking out Velasquez in just over a minute to kick off the promotion's FOX television deal. The former champion quickly rebounded by stepping on Bigfoot Silva and after securing a UFC 155 rematch, beat "Cigano" pillar-to-post for 25 minutes to reclaim the strap.
Like his rival, the Brazilian went out and knocked off another top contender to get himself right back into the title picture.
That means the stage is set for the UFC 166: "Velasquez vs. Dos Santos 3" pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Oct. 19, 2013 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
UFC released a sneak peek at its UFC 166 poster earlier today:
Get ready for fireworks.
Also lighting up "The Lone Star" state are Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson. "DC" was able to coax "Big Country" back to the Octagon for a heavyweight grudge match, which could mark the end of the former Olympian's days as a big man. That's assuming this wish comes true.
High stakes in Houston.
