Latest UFC rankings/MMA rankings (featherweight): Frankie Edgar outranks Ricardo Lamas and Korean Zombie

Just a few weeks ahead of two UFC pay-per-view (PPV) events which could shake things up in the 145-pound division, the SB Nation crew has tallied the votes and come up with the 10 best featherweight fighters in mixed martial arts (MMA) today. Have a look.

One unanimous decision win over Charles Oliveira.

That's all it took for former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar to become the third best featherweight on the planet, according to these rankings. Sure, he's 1-1 at 145 pounds and 2-3 over his last five, but I'm not going to argue this list.

It's why I got kicked off the panel in the first place.

I think we can all agree that Jose Aldo is still the king of the hill and as for the rest, that's up to the SB Nation rankings committee to decide. Here's what the big brains at MMA Mania, MMA Fighting and Bloody Elbow came up with when arguing over the top featherweight mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters in UFC and beyond.

Drums, please.

1. Jose Aldo (duh)
2. Chad Mendes
3. Frankie Edgar
4. Ricardo Lamas
5. Chan Sung Jung
6. Cub Swanson
7. Pat Curran (snubbed x2)
8. Dustin Poirier
9. Clay Guida (tie)
9. Nik Lentz (tie)
