Man of Steel's Henry Cavill rids himself of Gina Carano in favor of Big Bang star Kaley Cuoco

Smallville? More like Splitsville.

It was a match made in Krypton ... but now it's over.

"Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill has reportedly parted ways with former female mixed martial arts (MMA) star Gina Carano, but not before shacking up with television sitcom staple Kaley Cuoco. He's reportedly cuckoo for Cuoco's puffs.

After all, he went from "Fast & Furious" to "Big Bang" in just a few months.

We don't know if Cavill was in fact a "super" man in the sack, as Carano never dished any dirt on her Hollywood hunk, but there was obviously kryptonite somewhere in their budding romance. Either that, or "Conviction" preferred to kneel before Zod.

US Weekly has the meat and potatoes:

"After his 10-month relationship with actress Gina Carano fizzled in May, the Man of Steel hunk, 30, is now dating Kaley Cuoco, sources reveal exclusively to Us Weekly. "They are totally hot for each other," a pal says of the British actor and Big Bang Theory starlet, 27, who split with musician Bret Bollinger this past winter."

Insert "slow news day" joke here.

Carano hasn't seen the inside of the cage since getting worked by Cris Cyborg back in August 2009. She's managed to keep herself afloat in "Tinseltown" with a variety of high-profile movie projects, recently wrapping up filming on "In the Blood," as well as pre-production on a female version of "The Expendables."

More on those flicks here and here.

While bad news for the superhero universe, Carano's split with Cavill is good news for eligible superheroes in the DC Universe. Perhaps she could get wet with Aquaman, or show the "Knight" her "Dark" place. Or, maybe she could just become her own hero and don the Wonder Woman tights.

Imagine trying to join the mile-high club in the invisible jet?
