Uriah Hall vs John Howard fight booked for UFC on Fox Sports 1 #1 in Boston with Josh Samman injured

Round and round spins the UFC on Fox Sports 1 #1 injury carousel, we'll tell you why, why, why, why below.

Ring out, Samman in, Samman out, Howard in.

Just one month out from UFC on Fox Sports 1 #1: "Shogun vs. Sonnen," which takes place at TD Garden in Boston, Mass., next month (Aug. 17, 2013), Uriah Hall will have to prepare for his third opponent.

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 runner up was originally booked to battle Nick Ring before an injury forced him off the card, which is the same fate that recently claimed his replacement, Josh Samman, opening the door for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran -- and local mixed martial arts (MMA) talent -- John Howard.

BostonHerald.com was first to report the Octagon return of "Doomsday" -- a former Welterweight -- opposite Hall in Middleweight main card attraction.

Howard (20-8), who was bounced from the promotion in 2011 after three straight losses to Matt Brown, Thiago Alves and Jake Ellenberger, has compiled an impressive record (7-1) since his ouster, capturing the Classic Entertainment & Sports (CES) MMA Middleweight title and defending it four times. He registered four wins in his first UFC run, getting the best of Daniel Roberts, Dennis Hallman, Tamdan McCrory and Chris Wilson, all of whom are no longer with the organization.

Hall (7-3) was a member of Team Sonnen on TUF 17, quickly garnering attention for his highlight-reel knockouts. The talented striker was a heavy favorite going into the show's Finale; however, he dropped a split decision to teammate Kevin Gastelum.

UFC on Fox Sports 1 #1 features a Light Heavyweight contest that pits former division champion Mauricio Rua against three-time title challenger Chael Sonnen. Other notable fights on the card include Alistair Overeem vs. Travis Brown, Urijah Faber vs. Yuri Alcantara, Matt Brown vs. Thiago Alves and Brad Pickett vs. Michael McDonald.
