Word 'round the water cooler on Monday morning was that top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight Michael Bisping got KTFO when he tried to get loud with his sparring partner at Freddie Roach's Wild Card Boxing Club.
False.
That's according to the man himself, who fired back at the "liars" responsible for publishing rumors to the contrary. So what exactly happened to "The Count?" Well, not much, considering he's still on the mend from recent eye surgery (details here) and claims he hasn't been able to throw hands just yet.
His words (via Twitter):
"Ok, so these liars are saying I got ko'd at wild card gym. This is 100% not true. I have never been ko'd sparring at wildcard gym, or in sparring ever. Recovering from eye surgery so haven't sparred in a while."
The site responsible is reportedly sticking to its story.
Unfortunately for the brash Brit, who has only been stopped twice in 29 professional fights, he's often the subject of online pranks, including a never-ending flow of memes dedicated to his thunderous knockout loss to Dan Henderson way back at UFC 100.
To his credit, Bisping has done some knocking out of his own, planting 14 opponents in 24 wins.
Will Mark Munoz be next?
"The Filipino Wrecking Machine" is expected to face off against the former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winner and coach at a future UFC on FOX Sports 1 event, tentatively scheduled for Oct. 26, 2013 at the MEN Arena in Manchester England.
