MGM Grand plays host to UFC 167 featuring Georges St. Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks on Nov. 16 in Las Vegas

The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, gets yet another high-profile mixed martial arts (MMA) title fight.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre will defend his division title against 170-pound number one contender Johny Hendricks at the UFC 167: "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" pay-per-view (PPV) event, now official for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC Fight Club recently announced the venue, as well as the on-sale date for event tickets (Aug. 7).

Hendricks has been clamoring for a 170-pound title fight for over a year, passed over in favor of Nick Diaz, as well as a potential "super fight." Fortunately for the 15-1 "Bigg Rigg," Diaz was unable to seal the deal at UFC 158 back in March, while Anderson Silva was dethroned by Chris Weidman.

"Rush" tried to stymie him with increased drug testing, but nope, Hendricks is down for that as well.

Now there is nothing left to do except fight. And I'm not sure what the ZUFFA higher-ups have done to get all the awesome fights, but "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" joins "Silva vs. Weidman" -- as well as the rematch -- at the same location. Perhaps UFC President Dana White has a house account at Colicchio's Steakhouse?

No matter.

As expected, St. Pierre opened as a -225 favorite over the bearded brawler (+175), though it should be noted that the champ's betting line hasn't been this close since he opened at -180 against B.J. Penn at UFC 94 way back in late 2008.

Perhaps the bookies have been scared straight by this man?

No other bouts have been announced for UFC 167 at this time, but you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be bringing you that news just as soon as it breaks.

Stay tuned.
