Keith Wisniewski and Marcelo Guimares will hook ‘em up in an 170-pound affair while Godofredo Pepey and Sam Sicilia will go to battle in a 145-pound contest inside Jornalista Feilpe Drumond Stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil on Sept. 4, 2013.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) officials confirmed both match ups over the weekend.
Wisniewski (28-14-1) will be fortunate enough to get a third chance inside the Octagon after going 0-2 dating back to Oct. 2011. The 31-year-old has been sidelined since April 2012 and will finally hope to capture that elusive first UFC win.
Guimares (8-1-1) isn't in quite as bad of a spot as he is 1-1 under the UFC banner, although he did lose his last fight to Hyun Gyu Lim by second-round knockout.
Pepey (9-2) has already had plenty of ups and downs three fights into his UFC career. After failing to capture The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): Brazil crown against Rony Jason at UFC 147, Pepey split his next two fights and mot recent suffered a (technical) knockout loss at the hands of Felipe Arantes.
Sicilia (11-3) will enter the event on a career-worst two-fight losing streak. Despite earning a highlight reel knockout over Cristiano Marcello in his UFC debut, Sicilia will have his back against the wall as he cannot afford a third loss in a row.
UFC on FOX Sport 1 #3 will serve as a lead-in to the TUF season 18 debut and features a light heavyweight main event of Glover Teixeira vs. Ryan Bader.
