I'll try not to make a boob out of myself here, like Ben Wright did back in the mid-nineties.
He was the geriatric golf analyst that got kicked off the air when he said that female golfers were "handicapped by having boobs" because "it's not easy for them to keep their left arm straight, and that's one of the tenets of the game."
Wright was wrong, according to CBS Sports President David Kenin.
Anyway, there is the somewhat delicate subject of how breasts can help -- or hamper -- performance when it comes to sports. Now that women are getting busy inside the Octagon, it was only a matter of time before the subject reared its ugly lovely head.
And who better than outspoken UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey to weigh in?
"When someone's on your back trying to rip your head off, things tend to slip around a bit," the Olympian told ESPN. "I got kicked straight in the chest right as I was trying to adjust my bra."
Rousey was referring to her wardrobe malfunction at UFC 157 back on Feb. 23, 2013, in Anaheim, Calif., when top contender Liz Carmouche tried to maul her inside the Honda Center. Fortunately (or unfortunately for peeping Toms), "Rowdy" was able to keep her clothes on, battle back and retain her title.
But what if she was extra roomy up top?
"Gina Carano was an amazing fighter," Rousey continued. "And she had a fantastic rack. You don't see big titties in the Olympics, and I think that's for a reason."
That's likely to change the day they get Sumo into the Summer Games.
Carano retired from combat sports after a 2009 beatdown at the hands of Cris Cyborg and has since made good use of her assets in Hollywood, appearing in movies like "Haywire" and "Fast & Furious 6." Taking over as the new face of women's mixed martial arts (MMA) is Rousey, who had no qualms about showing just how fantastic her rack was, as well.
See those pics here.
Speaking of which, her opposing Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 coach and fellow UFC 168 headliner, Miesha Tate, also let it all hang out for the ESPN "Body Issue" (pics here), but "Cupcake" -- who once held gold under the Strikeforce banner -- hasn't been a part of the boob debate just yet.
Here's to hoping!
