No, I am not f-----g with you.
Longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran lightweight Yves Edwards will now fight Daron Cruickshank as part of the upcoming UFC on FOX 8: "Johnson vs. Moraga" fight card, scheduled for July 27, 2013 at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington.
Well, Spencer "The King" Fisher was forced to withdraw from his previously scheduled scrap against "The Master of Thugjitsu" due to injury, paving the way for "The Detroit Superstar" to step in on short notice and take his place in "Emerald City."
Edwards (42-19) is trying to win back-to-back fights for the first time inside the Octagon since his UFC return back in 2010. He's currently 4-3 during that stretch, having recently come up short on the judges' scoreards against Isaac Vallie-Flagg at UFC 156 back in February.
He's not the only one on the rebound.
Cruickshank (12-3) was in Cruick-control for the better part of six fights, but got the horns when he fought "The Bull," John Makdessi, at the UFC 158 pay-per-view (PPV) last March. It was the first defeat of his UFC career and will no doubt be looking to erase that memory with a big performance in Seattle.
We shall see.
UFC on FOX 8 will feature a flyweight championship main event as Demetrious Johnson puts his 125-pound title on the line against top contender John Moraga. In the co-main event, surging welterweight prospect Rory MacDonald meets the hard-hitting Jake Ellenberger in what is being pegged as a No. 1 contenders bout.
