Yes, really.
Hard-hitting veteran slugger Robbie Lawler will look to keep his momentum going when he trades leather with fellow Strikeforce veteran Bobby Voelker as part of the upcoming UFC on FOX 8 fight card, scheduled for July 27, 2013 at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington.
"Vicious" replaces Siyar Bahadurzada, himself a short notice substitute, who was forced to withdraw from the 170-pound affair due to injury.
After more than eight years away from the Octagon, Lawler (20-9) made his triumphant return to the promotion at UFC 157 back in February, stopping former welterweight number one contender Josh Koscheck by way of technical knockout in the very first round.
"Ruthless" has 18 finishes in 20 wins.
Voelker (24-9), meanwhile, was upended in his UFC debut against Patrick Cote, coming up short in a close unanimous decision defeat to "The Predator" back at UFC 158 in Montreal. The loss snapped a three-fight winning streak, which included back-to-back wins over Roger Bowling.
A victory over Lawler would undoubtedly be a catalyst to bigger and better things in the division.
UFC on FOX 8 will feature a flyweight championship main event as Demetrious Johnson puts his 125-pound title on the line against top contender John Moraga. In the co-main event, surging welterweight prospect Rory MacDonald meets the hard-hitting Jake Ellenberger in what is being pegged as a No. 1 contenders bout.
