Who's the one?
That's what the poster for "Mayweather vs. Canelo" asks and to date, it has been Floyd Mayweather. But that can all change when he goes head-to-head against Saul Alvarez for the super welterweight world championship at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sept. 14, 2013.
Check out the new sheet for their upcoming title fight below:
"Money" (44-0) recently abandoned his post at HBO for a more lucrative deal with the Showtime network (details here), and finally made his pay-per-view (PPV) debut for the cable television network with a 12-round unanimous decision win over Robert Guerrero last May in "Sin City."
Mayweather remains undefeated ... for now.
Alvarez, meanwhile, most recently topped Austin Trout on the judges' scorecards to unify the 154-pound belts and establish himself as one of the best in the business. The young Mexican phenom, also undefeated, has 30 knockouts in 42 wins.
Not that many options remained.
With Manny Pacquiao out of the pound-for-pound picture (see why here), all eyes have been on this pugilistic pairing (see photos from their recent press tour here) and as we learned from the Anderson Silva fight just last weekend, no fighter is invincible (proof).
As with any major boxing bout, we here at MMAmania.com will be bringing you live results and play-by-play because Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will not attempt to run a major mixed martial arts (MMA) event against a "sweet science" star of Mayweather's status.
