It's that time of year again!
Today is Canada Day, which is just a shameless rip off of Independence Day, because god forbid if real Americans like me have their own holiday.
I kid, I kid.
Canada Day celebrates July 1, 1867, the date the nation was officially born when the Constitution Act joined three provinces into one country: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Canada province, which then split into Ontario and Quebec.
I only know that because I looked it up on Mental Floss.
Without Canada, we wouldn't have top mixed martial arts (MMA) stars like Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre and international Ultimate Fighter (TUF) coach Patrick Cote.
Woo-hoo!
I'm sure Canada is known for some other great stuff too, but nothing really comes to mind, because I'm a dopey Yank from New Jersey and I don't have a handle on what you folks do north of the border.
So why don't you tell me in the comments section, eh?
