Both men are coming off first-round submission victories in their last bouts and will be looking to win their fourth fight inside the Octagon after registering three UFC victories to date.
Brandao (17-8) has essentially been a wrecking ball since winning The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14, going 3-1 with the lone bump in the road coming to top featherweight contender Darren Elkins at UFC 146.
The Brazilian looked sensational in his last bout as he sent Pablo Garza out of the UFC with a dominant first-round victory capped off by an arm-triangle choke.
Pineda (18-9) may have saved his job with the UFC last April when he snapped a two-fight losing streak with a first-round submission of Justin Lawrence at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale. The win made "The Pit" the first UFC fighter since Frank Mir defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 140 to win a fight inside the Octagon with a kimura.
Win or lose, the 27-year-old doesn't appreciate going to the judges as he has only gone the distance twice in 27 professional fights.
Of a combined 35 mixed martial arts (MMA) victories, Brandao and Pineda have defeated 32 opponents by (technical) knockout or submission, which means there is a good chance this match up doesn't see the judge's scorecards.
