Former professional boxing sensation Holly Holm, who earlier this announced her retirement from boxing and intentions to full pursue a mixed martial arts (MMA) career, will make her Legacy Fighting Championship (LFC) debut on July 19, 2013, after recently signing a multi-fight deal with the company.
Set to take on "The Preacher's Daughter" in her LFC debut is Allana Jones, a three-fight youngster in the sport who is likely best known for her recent bout and defeat to transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox.
MMA Junkie recently confirmed the bantamweight match up.
Holm (3-0) is entering the game somewhat late by many standards, as she is 31 years old and has limited fighting experience on the ground. However, training under the tutelage of famed coach Greg Jackson in New Mexico, Holm has already managed to win three-straight fights by (technical) knockout.
Her most recent fight took place under the Bellator MMA banner last February where Holm defeated Katie Merrill in the second round with strikes.
Jones (2-1) will go from one very difficult challenge to the next as she will look to rebound from a third-round submission loss to Fox at CFA 11 last month by taking on one of the most skilled female fighters the sport currently has to offer.
Holm vs. Jones is expected to be one of the featured bouts of the night at LFC 21, which goes down at the Houston Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas.
