The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) today made available the gate and attendance figures for the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 3: "Fitch vs. Burkman" event last Friday night (June 14, 2013) at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The final attendance of 2,501 was the result of 1,107 tickets sold and 1,394 complimentary tickets, good enough for a live gate of $106,573.
It's still early.
WSOF returned to "Sin City" after a layover earlier this year in New Jersey. Its first offering, which featured a main event between Andrei Arlovski vs. Devin Cole, saw 5,575 fans in attendance after selling 1,499 tickets and giving away 4,076 more.
The addition of UFC veteran Jon Fitch, in his headliner opposite Josh Burkman, failed to move the needle.
The upstart mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion is expected to hold its next show at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, on August 10, 2013 live on NBC Sports, headlined by a light heavyweight scrap between Tyrone Spong vs. Angel DeAnda.
