UFC 161 results: Shawn Jordan stops Pat Barry in one minute

Anne-Marie Sorvin-US PRESSWIRE

It took just 59 seconds for Shawn Jordan to score a stoppage victory over Pat Barry in the pay-per-view (PPV) main card kickoff of tonight's (June 15, 2013) UFC 161: "Evans vs. Henderson" event in Winnipeg.

The main card of the UFC 161: "Evans vs. Henderson" pay-per-view (PPV) tonight (Sat., June 15, 2013) at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, kicked off with a heavyweight hoedown pitting the heavy handed Pat Barry against the equally dangerous Shawn Jordan.

What a hell of a way to start a show, huh?

It didn't last long.

After a short feeling out process, Jordan waded in with a straight left that caught Barry clean on the chin. He followed it up with an uppercut that also did damage and before you knew it, he was just blitzing "HD" with a series of punches that he simply couldn't recover from before the referee stepped in to stop it.

Wam, bam, sorry Barry.

The official time of the stoppage was 0:59 of the very first round, an impressive performance from the unheralded Jordan.
