WSOF 3 results: Jacob Volkmann smothers Lyle Beerbohm en route to decision win

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

Jacob Volkmann was victorious in his first bout since exiting the UFC, as he used his usual game plan to defeat Lyle Beerbohm at tonight's (June 14, 2013) WSOF 3: "Fitch vs. Burkman" event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

If you thought Jacob Volkmann would suddenly become an exciting fighter once his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) shackles were off, well, tonight (Fri., June 14, 2013) emphatically proved otherwise.

That's because "Christmas" -- or "Dr. Feelgood" or "Obama's Worst Enemy" or whatever he's calling himself these days -- used exactly the same style fans came to hate when he used it inside the Octagon, a smothering, grappling heavy attack, to subdue Strikeforce veteran Lyle Beerbohm through three plodding rounds at WSOF 3: "Fitch vs. Burkman" at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

How bad was it?

That pretty much says it all about this one, no?
