Xtreme Fighting Championship's (XFC) twenty-fourth mixed martial arts (MMA) event is in the books as last night (June 14, 2013) the organization traveled to Tampa, Florida, for XFC 24: "Collision Course" at the USF Sun Dome.
With former lightweight champion Nick Newell moving on from XFC last month, the event headliner featured a vacant 155-pound title bout that saw undefeated Scott Holtzman batter and bruise John Mahlow for a round and a half en route to a (technical) knockout stoppage and the organization's championship belt.
The co-main event of the night was a middleweight contest that featured a brutal first-round (technical) knockout as Ricky Rainey extended his current win-streak to three fights in a row when he put away Reggie Pena at the 4:33 mark of the opening frame.
Eight of the 11 fights on the card ended inside the distance, which was exactly what the Tampa fans paid to see.
