Cha-ching!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is back in the news, but not because she's beating the shit out of the local nerd contingent (like she did here), but rather because she is the first female mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter to become a millionaire.
That's the power of the UFC brand.
Of course, "Rowdy" deserves much of the credit. Having the world's largest fight promotion putting her center stage would be meaningless if she failed to deliver. Unfortunately for the rest of the women's 135-pound division, she has, racking up seven straight wins.
With seven straight first-round armbars.
She's also kicking ass outside the cage, landing on the cover of ESPN the Magazine, in addition to Sports Illustrated. Her next conquest is reality television, where the former Olympian will coach The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Season 18 opposite longtime nemesis Miesha Tate (see more on their upcoming FX feud here).
Rousey is a world champion, an Olympic medalist and now a millionaire.
What's next?
