Manny Gamburyan vs. Cole Miller booked for UFC on FOX Sports 1 #1 on Aug. 17 in Boston

Gary A. Vasquez-US PRESSWIRE

Cole Miller and Manny Gamburyan look to notch back-to-back wins for the first time in over two years -- at the expense of each other -- when they lock horns later this summer in "Beantown."

It's a featherweight fight over six years in the making.

Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 grad Cole Miller has been slated to throw down against his former reality show team mate, Manny Gamburyan, as part of the UFC on FOX Sports 1 #1 event, scheduled for Aug. 17, 2013 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Promotion officials announced the bout late last night.

Like his opponent, Miller started his mixed martial arts (MMA) career as a lightweight, but has since shed some skin to ply his trade at 145 pounds. Unfortunately, his new home has not yielded favorable results, as "Magrinho" is just 1-2 since making the switch last year in Sydney.

Things haven't exactly been wine and roses for Gamburyan, either.

"The Anvil" was mired in a wretched three-fight slump dating back to his knockout loss against Jose Aldo in 2010. Since being pasted by "Junior," Gamburyan is 1-2, finally getting back into the win column with a unanimous decision win over Michihiro Omigawa last summer on FOX.

No one likes to mention the dreaded pink slip, but this fight could be a tough pill to swallow for the loser.

UFC on FOX Sports 1 #1 will feature an impromptu light heavyweight match up pitting Mauricio Rua opposite Chael Sonnen, while a monster heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem vs. Travis Browne was recently made official. Thiago Alves vs. Matt Brown and Michael Johnson vs. Joe Lauzon have also been slated to hook 'em up.
