Ronda Rousey joins Pussy Riot on Business Insider's list of '50 Women Who Are Changing The World'

Aside from her accomplishments on the International judo circuit, UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is creating a lot of "firsts" for women inside the Octagon. That includes the upcoming season of TUF 18 where she'll coach opposite Cat Zingano.

What's Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey doing on a list with the first female Senator from Massachusetts, the first Hispanic Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court and the first woman to head the Secret Service?

Changing the world!

Rousey ranks number 42 on Business Insider's list of "50 Women Who Are Changing the World," thanks to her ability to break down barriers in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). Her accomplishments inside the cage helped convince UFC President Dana White to create a female fighting division.

Business Insider summarizes:

Thanks to martial arts fighter Ronda Rousey, women now fight in the UFC. The trash-talking Olympian qualified for the Athens games when she was only 17, and was the youngest judo competitor enlisted. In 2006, she became the first U.S. female athlete in nearly 10 years to win an A-Level tournament when she took home the gold metal at the Birmingham World Cup in Great Britain. She also graced the cover of ESPN's body issue last year.

Whether or not you're a "Rowdy" fan, who will coach The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 this fall opposite Cat Zingano (details here), she has definitely earned her spot.

You can argue her place on the list until the cows come home, but keep in mind this is the same list that has 22 year-old Jennifer Lawrence, award-winning actress from "Hunger Games," ranked at number 23 because she "epitomizes the ideal of normal girl in Hollywood."

So apparently, not getting coked up and nailed by your producer is enough to change the world.

The good news is, Pussy Riot is ranked at number six. The feminist punk rock performance group was jailed for speaking out against Russian President Vladimir Putin and the government. Their official charge? "Hooliganism motivated by religious hatred."

Vat a country!
