According to a report from British news outlet MMA Opinion, the 32-year-old has been released from his UFC contract following a 92-second knockout loss to Yoel Romero at UFC on FOX 7: "Henderson vs. Melendez" on April 20, 2013.
Pair the MMA Opinion report with the fact Starks' profile is no longer on the organization's official website and it appears there is one less middleweight employed by the UFC.
Starks (8-2) joined the UFC ranks in late 2011 and picked up a unanimous decision win over Dustin Jacoby at UFC 137. From there, the Arizona native received a step up in competition against The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 3 runner-up Ed Herman and was submitted in the second round.
Following the defeat to Herman, Starks was out of action for over 14 months and made his return against Romero where he lost in highlight reel fashion.
As of now, Starks is the only losing fighter from UFC on FOX 7 to be released from the UFC.
