This is maybe something I should have considered doing when I first joined, but I didn't really care to, and now I kind of only want to because I'm going to Hawaii in a couple of weeks and I felt you should all know that I will be enjoying getting drunk on the beach while you all rage on mania while staring at your computers pretending to work.
I'm from Lima, Peru, though living in Phoenix now, getting a kick out of 95° at the beginning of May. Wouldn't change it for the world though, fuck the cold. I'd rather sweat than keel over and die because my hands got cold. I went to school at ASU and got my degree in Industrial Engineering on the six year plan (although 3 of those years were in Peru and most of the credits didn't transfer over).
I trained BJJ for a couple of years on and off, before going hardcore with BJJ, Muay Thai and MMA for a year, getting my blue belt in the process. I wanted to fight at first, but then decided that I'd rather just beat up my brothers and get a paycheck from a desk job. I'm a hypochondriac anyway, and I'd just assume that the first hit that lands broke something that will never be fixed if I don't tap immediately. Over the last year I got painfully lazy with the training since I got engaged, but have recently picked it up again at a new gym that also has wrestling and boxing classes.
Speaking of being engaged, I get married a week and a day from today on the beach in Mexico, and then go to Hawaii. My fiance is, now and hopefully forever, very supportive and helpful in just about anything I want to do that doesn't involve going full Mitrione. Fortunately for me, she's interested enough in MMA to listen to me talk about everything I read on mania, not to mention ignore the FFT as I browse through, and she also hopes that someday, someone beats up Jon Jones.
Anyway, hopefully that makes a nice year and a half late introduction. I really do enjoy the articles and especially comments in mania, and I hope to stick around for the long haul.
So good meeting everyone
