"I never felt very confident to do that before, but I train that a lot in the gym. I was feeling way faster than him, so I tried it and WOW, it was amazing. It wasn't very well connected, so when I finished the kick I saw him going down and I enjoyed it. Like I said all the time, I trust my hands, I really believe I can knock anyone out. Anyone! This guy is really tough, so I came to knock him out ... and I did."
-- Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos talks to Ariel Helwani about the incredible spinning kick that he used to knock out Mark Hunt on FUEL TV's UFC 160 post-fight show. "Cigano" rarely utilizes kicks are part of his offensive strategy as he is known for his boxing skills, but after two-and-a-half rounds of war with Hunt, dos Santos decided to dig deep into his bag of tricks and pull out something flashy. While he was not overly confident in the technique, the kick was money as it knocked "The Super Samoan" down and led to the finish. It was a truly stunning maneuver for a heavyweight to pull off in a highly competitive fight and everyone, including dos Santos, was in awe of how well it actually worked.
