UFC on FX 8 results: Vitor Belfort spinning head kick finishes Luke Rockhold

Tom Szczerbowski-US PRESSWIRE

Vitor Belfort used a spinning head kick to finish off Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" tonight (May 18, 2013) in Brazil. It was insane.

Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold had themselves a steady war of words in the lead up to tonight's (Sat., May 18, 2013) UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" main event middleweight match-up at the Arena Jagaura in Jagaura do Sul, Brazil. A win would inch both back to the title picture and improve their already high ranking in the 185-pound weight class.

"The Phenom" emphatically closed Rockhold's mouth with one of the best spinning head kicks you will ever see.

Shortly into the opening frame, the Brazilian badass sent his leg spiraling into his opponent's head and connected clean on the chin. To his credit, Rockhold didn't immediately go out, instead falling to the mat in a heap of hurt and confusion.

It was there that Vitor came down with those lightning quick punches to finish the job by bouncing his head off the mat a few times. The fact that Rockhold woke up just seconds later didn't matter -- he was soundly defeated in spectacular fashion in his UFC debut.

Welcome to the big leagues.
