Guess who's back again, Maniacs?

The mixed martial arts (MMA) fantasy website Kountermove is back and this time, it's offering an even bigger freeroll for MMAmania.com readers. If you're not familiar with how the site works, here's a brief snippet from the site owners, themselves.

Kountermove brings the traditional fantasy format to MMA. Accumulation of points and a salary cap make fantasy MMA more intriguing than your basic "pick 'em" contest. With other industry pros on the site it is the place to be if you know your MMA.

The game is fairly simple on its face, games are played over a single night during one event. Prior to the event, players get a total of $25,000 fantasy dollars to pick five fighters for your team. Each fighter is given a specific salary by Kountermove. Kountermove assigns a value for each fighter based on how we believe the fight will go.

Points are scored if a fighter scores a finish, wins a round, lands significant strikes, knocks an opponent down, scores takedowns, secures dominant positions or attempts submissions. The more dominant your fighters'performance, the more points you're going to score. If you score more points than your opponents, then you win the money.

If you don't have an account, don't worry, you can create one for free, but do it quickly, spacing is limited!

If you're interested in a few pointers on potential fighters to pick, one of Kountermove's key members, Aaron Ard, has offered some of his ideas for best choices on your team out of the pool of potential fighters:

Aaron Ard's picks:

Francisco Trinaldo: Rio can use his wrestling and grind out a win, more likely Rio is not going to be able to get the takedown and instead Trinaldo dominates the stand-up battle and gets the KO early.

Yuri Alcantara: Alcantara strength and power coupled with Santos's sloppy stand-up = Santos sleeping in the 1st round.

Fabrio Maldonado: Hollett and Maldonado will slug it out for a while but in the end Maldonado will win the war of attrition and get the KO.

Myself, I see a TON of value in someone like Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, who has finished all three of his last opponents in dominating fashion. Most impressively, he completely destroyed UFC middleweight Ed Herman in his most recent bout at the final Strikeforce event. If he was able to make such quick work of Herman, he could definitely overwhelm Chris Camozzi, who was submitted by now welterweight Kyle Noke in a prior UFC contest.

Another fighter that stands out is Yuri Alcantara, who has looked like an absolute monster throughout much of his MMA career, famously knocking current top featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas as a lightweight and has now cut all the way down to 135 pounds. Alcantara possesses some serious pop in his punches, especially for a bantamweight. Look for him to really do something impressive tonight.

Thanks for reading and good luck!
