"We haven't been getting much love ... I definitely wish they would put us on the main card. We're definitely going to put an awesome fight on."
-- The world's No. 7 ranked flyweight fighter, Chris Cariaso, tells MMA Junkie that he doesn't believe the Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC) 125-pound weight class has been "getting much love" since it was introduced to the organization in mid-2012. Cariaso, who fights on the preliminary portion of tonight's (May 18, 2013) UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" fight card, is seemingly unimpressed that his fight against No. 5 ranked Jussier Formiga was not given a main card spot and feels that is a reflection of the way the division has been treated. The match up is only one of two at the event to feature two fighters ranked in the top-10 their respective weight classes - the other being the main event of Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold. Since the flyweight division was introduced, fights have appeared irregularly on cards and not much new talent is being signed. From the outside, it doesn't feel as if the organization is doing much to develop or push the 125-pound weight class and it seems Cariaso shares the same sentiment.
