Did you know that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight titleholder Demetrious Johnson's favorite fighter to watch is welterweight sensation Rory MacDonald? Or that "Mighty Mouse" believes pre-fight consummation is a good thing for an athlete's body?
The 26-year-old gave all these answers and more in a recent chat with The Seattle Times set up to promote his UFC on FOX 8 showdown with John Moraga on July 27, 2013 at KeyArena in Seattle, Washington.
Johnson (17-2-1) is a native of Washington State and will have the chance to headline an event in front of a semi-hometown crowd in what will be his first fight since undergoing shoulder surgery earlier this year.
In the complete chat, Johnson discussed his training regiments, his favorite fights, fighters, singers, movies and much, much more.
To save you the time, we combed through the chat and pulled out the best fight-related answers you might not have heard before from the top 125-pound on the planet.
" Aldo vs. Pettis. I'm happy with that."
Top pound-for-pound fighter:
"Rory McDonald beating up on B.J. Penn."
Weight before training camp begins:
"This time around 148."
Speed vs. power:
"Speed! Power misses all the time..."
Sex before fights:
"It doesn't affect me in anyway and I think it is good for the body."
Johnson also said in the chat that he believes Moraga with be his toughest opponent to date and that he must be weary of his opponent's submission abilities more than any other skills he brings to table.
UFC on FOX 8: "Johnson vs. Moraga" also featured a 170-pound contenders bout of Rory MacDonald vs. Jake Ellenberger as well as a meeting between top women's bantamweight contenders as Miesha Tate battles Liz Carmouche.
