While she may have been in one of the opening bouts of the night, strawweight Rose Namajunas stole the show at Invicta FC 5 this past Friday April 5, 2013) in Kansas City, Missouri.
It only took "Thug" 12 seconds to finish opponent Kathina Catron and she did it in highlight-reel fashion, jumping up for a beautiful flying armbar attack and scoring what is widely to believed as the fastest submission in women's mixed martial arts (MMA) history.
Hell, it's probably going to be a contender for submission of the year, male or female.
With the victory, Namajunas moves to 2-0 overall in her young professional career, and no one was happier about it than her boyfriend, UFC heavyweight Pat Barry. After a performance like that, they're quickly moving up the ranks as MMA's most prominent power couple.
Invicta FC made sure to memorialize Namajunas' victory with a fantastic and emotional post-fight video package, showcasing behind-the-scenes moments before, during and after her "Submission of the Night"-winning bout. What do you think?
