UFC on FUEL TV 9: "Mousasi vs. Latifi" from Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, is officially in the books after an "awesome" afternoon (April 6, 2013) of mixed martial arts (MMA) action.
The main event of the evening, Gegard Mousasi vs. Ilir Latifi, was a last-minute 205-pound bout that marked the noteworthy Octagon debut of "Dream Catcher," who was originally booked to battle Alexander Gustafsson before "The Mauler" was forced out because of a "three-stitch glitch."
Mousasi jabbed his way en route to a self-described "smart" three-round unanimous decision victory (watch video highlights here).
In other main card action, Ross Pearson wrecked Ryan Couture in the second round of their Lightweight co-main event (watch video highlights here), while former Heavyweight hopeful Matt Mitrione needed just 19 seconds to return to the win column, crushing Philip De Fries with a brutal barrage of ground-and-pound.
Brad Pickett and Mike Easton, meanwhile, collided to earn UFC on FUEL TV 9 "Fight of the Night" honors.
Anyway, as usual, all the stars of the show came to dish the dirt on the event immediately afterward at the post-fight press conference, including Mousasi, Latifi, Pickett and Conor McGregor, among others. Naturally, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White -- who almost always emcees the post-fight event wrap up shows -- was also in attendance.
Enjoy.
