Brad Pickett vs. Michael McDonald? 'One Punch' no longer 'one dimensional' and wants 'Mayday' fight

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, APRIL 6, 2013: Brad Pickett (black/white trunks) and Mike Easton (purple shorts) during "UFC on Fuel 9: Mousasi vs. Latifi" inside the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden (Martin McNeil for SB Nation) - COPYRIGHT:Martin McNeil

Longtime veteran bantamweight, Brad Pickett, is ready to start fighting guys who are ranked above him rather than below him. Did you see anything in his fight against Mike Easton to warrant fulfilling that request?

Like Bruce Buffer would say: "It's time!"

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight brawler Brad Pickett is a late bloomer. You previously knew him for his flashy finishes over guys like Yves Jabouin, but that's to be expected when your nickname is "One Punch." Hopefully you weren't too attached to that moniker, because those days are over.

This is Pickett version 2.0.

The former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) standout is no longer "one dimensional," carving out a split decision win over Mike Easton at UFC on FUEL TV 9 last Saturday (April 6, 2013) in Stockholm, Sweden. Not content to just stand and bang, Pickett also mixed in takedowns to steal the final frame from "The Hulk" and get himself back into the win column.

From his three-dimensional conversation with UFC Tonight:

"The last fight everyone said I was one dimensional. This time, I looked to change and mix things up. I think it went well for me tonight. I actually would like to fight someone ranked above me for once. I always get people below me. Maybe somebody like Michael McDonald would be a good fight. Anyone above me, give me somebody above me."

Sounds good to me.

McDonald is the perfect match up. While "Mayday" is coming off a loss, it was at the hands of UFC Interim Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao, which didn't exactly send him tumbling down the rankings. The Californian's defeat snapped an eight-fight winning streak and he should rebound against a tough, middle-of-the-pack fighter who's good in all areas.

Know anybody who fits that bill?
