"Money" talks ... are you willing to listen?
If so, the Showtime network has you covered. In preparation for the return of pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is booked for a Saturday night showdown against four-division champion Robert Guerrero on May 4, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the network has given viewers an "All Access" pass to their preparations, the first episode of which can be found above.
After defeating a surprisingly-game Miguel Cotto in early 2012, Mayweather was forced to put his career temporarily on hold after domestic abuse charges earned him a nine-week stint in the clink. By the time he laces up the gloves to face Guerrero, 364 days will have passed since the "Junito" showdown.
While ring rust would be a concern for most people, Mayweather had a longer layoff between his fights against Shane Mosley and Victor Ortiz and has not fought twice in a calendar year since 2007. He currently owns the WBC welterweight title, which he earned by knocking out "Vicious."
Guerrero, who owns the interim version of the same belt, had a busy 2012, jumping directly from lightweight (135 pounds) to welterweight (147) to grind down gritty veteran Selcuk Aydin for the strap. He went on to take out Andre Berto in a fight that demonstrated a newfound (and highly effective) mean streak in "The Ghost," who managed to knock down Berto twice in the first round and swell his eye shut.
It's an incredibly intriguing match up, and one that MMAmania.com will be on top of all week. We'll have new episodes of "All Access," previews, and more good stuff as we inch closer to fight night.
