"At 155 the division is so stacked, so deep, the top five guys are like this far apart - they're very close the top-5 guys, the top-10 guys at 155. Do I imagine I will be seeing Gil again? Yeah I'll be seeing Gil again and he'll want to beat the crap out of me, so, I'll be seeing Gil again I don't know if it'll be an immediate rematch. If it is, it is. Cool. Sounds good to me let's do it. Let's run it back. But there's a lot of guys at 155 that a pretty tough who all want to beat me up."
-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Benson Henderson tells media members at the UFC on FOX 7 post-fight press conference (watch it here) that he thinks he will be fighting Gilbert Melendez again in the future after the two elite 155-pound fighters faced off in a dramatic five-round battle in the main event of UFC on FOX 7 Saturday night (April 20, 2013) in San Jose, California (watch highlights here). "El Nino" gave Henderson arguably his best fight yet as champion and in the opinion of many should have walked out of the HP Pavilion with the title belt around his waist. The lightweight division has been a hotbed for immediate rematches in recent years, but that will not be the case this time around as Henderson will meet the winner of UFC 160's lightweight tilt between Gray Maynard and T.J. Grant in his next defense. Even though he has a new challenge in front of him already, "Smooth" did not reject the idea of a rematch with Melendez and appeared more confident a second bout between the two will inevitable take place -- be it two fights from now or ten fights from now.
