Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine booked for UFC on FOX 8 on July 27 in Seattle

The welterweight division continues to sort itself out as the promotion has announced yet another blockbuster match-up for its return to Seattle. Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine at UFC on FOX 8 ... you dig?

Well now ... this is interesting.

Hard-hitting veteran slugger Robbie Lawler will look to keep his momentum going when he trades leather with fellow Strikeforce import Tarec Saffiedine as part of the upcoming UFC on FOX 8 fight card, scheduled for July 27, 2013 at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington.

UFC officials announced the match-up earlier today.

After more than eight years away from the Octagon, Lawler (20-9) made his triumphant return to the promotion at UFC 157 back in February, stopping former welterweight number one contender Josh Koscheck by way of technical knockout in the very first round.

"Ruthless" has 18 finishes in 20 wins.

Also known for his striking prowess is Saffiedine (14-3), and never was that more evident than when he put the screws to Nate Marquardt at the final Strikeforce show, closing out his career with the San Jose-based fight promotion as the last man to ever wear the 170-pound strap.

"The Sponge" has yet to be finished in 17 professional fights.

UFC on FOX 8 will also feature a compelling 170-pound match-up pitting Rory MacDonald vs. Jake Ellenberger, while Melvin Guillard tries to stay alive in the lightweight division at the expense of Mac Danzig.
