Gleison Tibau vs. John Cholish added to May's UFC on FX 8 in Brazil

Lightweights will share the Octagon at the UFC's return to Brazil as Gleison Tibau will take on John Cholish at UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" this May.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC) next fight card in the country of Brazil is quickly filling up as a lightweight bout pitting Gleison Tibau against John Cholish has been added to UFC on FX 8, scheduled for May 18, 2013, at Arena Jaragua in Santa Catarina, Brazil.

The contest will pit two fighters who were defeated by way of decision in their last bout.
Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting first passed along news of the bout; however, UFC officials have yet to confirm the 155-pound match up.

Tibau (29-6) was on the wrong end of a split decision loss to Evan Dunham at UFC 156, marking his second defeat in his past three fights. The Brazilian is one of the most active fighters in UFC history, as UFC on FX 8 will be his 19th fight with the organization in roughly six years.

The 29-year-old will fight in his home country of Brazil for the second time in his past three bouts.

Cholish (8-2) will have been out of action for over one-year by the time his fight against Tibau rolls around after losing a unanimous decision to Team Alpha-Male product Danny Castillo at UFC on FOX 3.

The American has only fought twice since joining the UFC in 2011, going 1-1 with his lone victory coming against Mitch Clarke at UFC 140.

Tibau vs. Cholish will likely take place on the preliminary portion of the UFC on FX 8 fight card, which will air on Facebook and FUEL TV. The main card airs on FX.

UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" goes down May 18, 2013, at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The event headliner will see Vitor Belfort welcome Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold to the organization in a five-round contest. Also on the undercard, Constantinos Philippou and Ronaldo Souza have agreed to tangle.
