Road FC 11 is set to be the best card in the history of the Korean promotion with two title fights, the start of a new tournament and the promotional debuts of Pride veterans Sokoudjou and Joachim Hansen. The show is taking place on April 13, 2013 at Seoul's Olympic Hall.
Eun Soo Lee (16-4) won the middleweight belt from Shungo Oyama last year with one of the most brutal knock outs in Road FC history and will be making the first defense of his title against the well traveled Ikuhisa Minowa (55-34-8), better known as 'Minowaman', in the main event.
The co main event will be the final of the Road FC Lightweight Grand Prix which pits Korean Yui Chul Nam (15-4-1) against Japan's Takasuke Kume (15-1-4). Both men have progressed through the first two rounds of the tournament and will be battling to become the first ever Road FC lightweight champion.
Making his Road FC debut on April 13th will be Sokoudjou (13-11). The Cameroonian who made a name for himself fighting for the UFC and Pride is going up against Seung Bae Whi (7-3) in a light heavyweight contest.
Joachim Hansen will be returning to MMA after an 18 month absence in which he has taken a couple of kickboxing fights. The Norwegian will be fighting in the featherweight division but the identity of his opponent has not been revealed at the time of writing.
No title is on the line but the fight between Luis Ramos and Jung Hwan Cha will be a significant one in the welterweight division. The Korean has notable wins over Ryo Chonan and Gregor Gracie while the Brazilian is fresh from an unsuccessful two fight stint in the UFC.
With Kyung Ho Kang having relinquished his Road FC Bantamweight belt in order to sign with the UFC the title is now vacant and another 135 lbs tournament has been arranged to crown a new champion. Eight fighters are booked and the quarter finals and semi finals will all be taking place on April 13th.
