Ildemar Alcantara and Jason High have been scheduled for a welterweight bout at UFC on FUEL TV 10. Both men boast strong submission games, which hopefully equates to an entertaining, technical scrap on fight night (June 8, 2013).
An Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight showdown between Ildemar Alcantara and Jason High was recently confirmed for UFC on FUEL TV 10, which is penciled in to take place at Ginasio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Brazil, on June 8, 2013, according to Tatame.com report.
The bout will mark two firsts: Alcantara's 170-pound debut inside the Octagon and High's inaugural appearance inside the eight-walled cage after a run under the Strikeforce banner.
Alcantara sports an impressive mixed martial arts (MMA) record (18-5), compiling many fights on the Brazilian regional circuit. He entered the UFC as a short notice replacement against Wagner Prado, winning the bout with a slick kneebar in the second round.
That bout was actually contested at Light Heavyweight, which means that "Marajo" will weigh 35 pounds less in his sophomore effort.
High, meanwhile, has also been around the sport for some time, competing in such notable organizations as Dream, Affliction, K-1 and Strikeforce, among others, as well as one prior UFC appearance (a loss to Charlie Brenneman by unanimous decision).
Since washing out of the UFC, "The Kansas City Bandit" has put together an impressive seven-fight win streak, with the three most recent wins coming in Strikeforce.
