Ronda Rousey says it would be ‘nice' if Cat Zingano beats Miesha Tate at TUF 17 Finale

UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey tells AXS TV's "Inside MMA" that it would be "nice" to coach The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 18 against Cat Zingano, and not Miesha Tate, who Rousey has already fought and defeated.

We already know Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will be one of the coaches on the The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 co-ed season. What we don't know, though, is who will be her counterpart.

At The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale on April 13, 2013, the answer will be revealed when the world's No. 1 ranked and No. 4 ranked (according to official UFC rankings) 135-pound female fighters will square to determine who will coach opposite Rousey when Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano square off at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rousey and Tate would arguably be the bigger pairing of the show due to the history and genuine dislike between the two fighters; however, that is not the outcome "Rowdy" is hoping for.

On Friday's (March 22, 2013) edition of "Inside MMA" on AXS TV, the UFC's reigning 135-pound queen revealed that she would prefer to have Zingano win due to the fact both of them hold undefeated records and the match could be promoted as a "someone's 0 has to go" type of situation.

Her words:

"I've had my eye on Cat for a while. She is one of the only other undefeated 135ers at the moment and so I'm very interested to see how that fight goes I think it would be nice to have Cat win and just to have another name that's kind of well known within the girls ranks."

Regardless of what happens in the upcoming Tate vs. Zingano bout, the UFC is going to have an intriguing season of TUF on their hands with female fighters coaching a house full of up-and-coming men and women.
