The reigning Strikeforce middleweight champ will take on Belfort, a former UFC champion himself who has fought for two titles in two different weight classes in the past two years.
Believe it or not, despite the bout taking place in "The Phenom's" backyard of Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil, Rockhold is a minor favorite according to the oddsmakers.
Perhaps they heard Rockhold's interview where he talked about finding extra satisfaction from beating up fighters who are currently using TRT. Belfort, in case you've been living under a rock, caused a stir when it came out he'd been fighting with the aid of TRT in his last two bouts despite the fact he had been previously busted for steroid use. He's lucky the bout is taking place in Brazil because Nevada's Keith Kizer has already said he wouldn't give him an exemption.
UFC President Dana White isn't a fan either, recently switching his stance on it and saying you're too old to be fighting if you have to use TRT to remain competitive.
We'll have two months for this one to come to a head.
